People and their bulletins

Is it just me, or do people don't have any lives anymore?

Okay, so here I am bored out of my mind, reading other people's bulletin posts and from bored as I was, I feel the need to be sorry for the person posting that unnecessary bulletin.

"Repost this and there will be a miracle happening in 12 hours."

Call me pessimstic, but sometimes, I feel like messaging back that person, and asking, "Are you retarted?"
I know, mean as it is, but do you think there is going to be a miracle? You've probably posted about fifty of these. When will this miracle come?

Or this one, I love.

"Repost this shit or you're father will die in two hours."

When I saw this, it was sweet how everyone cared for their fathers and such but I didn't repost it. I was just curious if something bad would literally happen to the grand ol' Pop of mine. I kept on calling him and asked, "You dead yet?" After thinking about him for two long hours that felt like centuries, he didn't die. Thankfully.

I think it's a bit odd for people to also post about their day. "So I just got back from the store. Sexy!"

I don't want to sound bitchy, but... who cares?

There was another reposted item that really striked me. It was about a girl babysitting her friend's little brother. She then saw a clown and called her friend to ask why he has a clown in his room. Needless to say, it was about a killer clown that killed everyone. It got even dumber because the sole reason why the clown killed all the characters was because the boy didn't repost the myspace bulletin about the killer clown...

Was that a perfect example on how gullable we got? I have to admit though, I was a tad bit afraid to go to sleep that day. But I thought to myself while I was on top of my bed, "Why wasn't this myspace killer clown thing get shown on the news?"

I mean, I was reading that more people are attracted to stories that show a lot of drama and chaos because that sells more newspapers/magazines and grabs the attention of more viewers.

Just a thought...

So the next time you recieve a chain mail or read a myspace bulletin, think about it first. It may surprise you for better or for worse.

This has been a presentation of cynical me.

You just gotta love that facebook group, "For Every Chain Letter I Get I Kill a Puppy's Profile".
