So I am back on the blogging arena.
And I'm actually homesick. I hardly ever get homesick. Except for the time when I was in the Galapagos...that was only 12 days. But still. I was pretty much forced to go.
So random but the guy near me is Russian. Oh crud so cool!!!!
Here are the stuff that I've written so far during my stay in DC. The times listed above the paragraphs are basically the time I started writing. (Oh it's thundering. Awesome!)

I really can’t sleep comfortably in this situation. It’s to the point where I feel like I am not even in a home, but rather a house trekker – everything is unimportant to me, yet I still have to live off of it with the best of my abilities.
Granted, it is free housing. Free housing in DC? What? Really? Yes really. But you know, it’s not all the glam and glitter. In reality, it’s more like house flies and dust. Because I am getting free housing, I am expected to do 25 hours of work. Kind of like a win-win situation between parties. But when I came to realize that the only one winning is the lady, while I am the only one loosing this battle. Soon, I figured that none of this was worth it. I am in a bad neighborhood. The dust and the uncleanliness is mind boggling and I just saw a couple of spiders while cleaning the fridge. Not to mention, the shower was filled with random stuff such as body products, hangers, just random things that you normally don’t expect in a shower.
I am clearly crossing my fingers. Crossing them that this whole housing in another area could work out. Granted, my possible commute would be an hour each day. Unless someone from the household drives me to a metro stop (the home isn’t really within walking distance to a metro station). We’ll see. It would be splendid being a “big sister” to two other kids. Not to mention, a room to myself (the room where I am now is actually in the living room…with one of those sofas that transforms into beds). And I would get a $600 stipend each month. That’s pretty insane. I love to help out. Why not? Plus, I am meeting the mom tomorrow (okay technically today) and I am not sure if this is an interview or just that I already got it and that I am checking the place out. Who knows. But seriously though, that would be amazing.
I saw lots of other ads on Craig’s List. One that intrigued me was in Arlington, Virginia. You would house sit and watch cats for only $300. Arlington is an epic place to live and as an added bonus, it is right near everything – shops, metro, food, whatever. But again, we’ll see how this works out.
As I look around this home, I am so lucky to be living in my home back in Pennsylvania. If I am having fun, then this will be a quick summer. Heck, I plan on going home around the 19th of August anyways. Holy shit that’s 65 days! I better make the best of it all. I am giving it a couple of weeks – let’s hope this internship is good. If not, I may just pack my bags, go home, and apply for a job at Giant.

I finally left the crazy lady’s house. I intended to leave during my first night. I didn’t go to her house the next day after work. Instead, I was supposed to meet that lady concerning the free housing when you babysit kids and you also get paid $600 a month. However, it turns out she was getting her hair done and that she’ll call me back later.
11:22pm
She never called me back. I was lounging around Dupont Circle, then Georgetown (so I can charge my phone) then back at Dupont towards the night. I couldn't go back to her house. I would have to take the metro outside of work and walk more than a mile to the crazy lady's house. It would have been too dangerous. Therefore, I had to make a choice. I decided to go to my internship and stay overnight. My division operates 24 hours a day. Therefore, there is always going to be people working inside the Center.
I was granted permission, I was allowed, it was great. I did some work on the side. I met other people who work night shift. Wow. I was shocked. It seems like a lax and calming environment. Plus, the dress is casual! Jealous!
I started to do some work. Granted, I didn't do too much work due to my sleep schedule. I was up since 7am on Wednesday and I finally took a nap around 3pm on Thursday. It was pretty hectic to say the least.
When my supervisor came to work around 7 in the morning, he was shocked that I was still there. I had my Lehigh University Marching Band shirt on and the same work pants. I told him my situation. (I emailed him when I was granted permission from my other supervisor.) But he was totally understanding. I love my supervisors and co-workers. It's a great environment.
--> The other guy next to me is from Belgium! So cool!!!!!!! Many people at here are my age and love to travel. Awesome!
I have a government id and there are many interns. Many of the employees are very friendly and always willing to answer my questions if I have any problems.
Anyways...
After I left the crazy lady's house (she was pretty mad at me that I didn't go and "kicked" me out but I was planning on leaving anyways.) I gathered all of my things and went back to my job. I took a shower (love that perk), utilized the locker room and traveled to the hostel. I am in a room with six other females. They are from Scotland, Mexico, Italy, South Korea, and Baltimore.. lol
I am only here for a night and I'll be staying with a co-worker at my division until the end of July. So, either I would have to look for housing for August or I could just go home. I'm actually tempted to go home. I miss home. I miss playing jokes with my sister, being with my dogs and cats, staying up with Brian until the wee hours of the morning, going to his house and being together, going to Greg's house and playing Frisbee or video games, going to the Stroud Mall just to go snag an Auntie Annie's pretzel. Wow. I really do belong in my hometown. haha
Time to sleep. I'm going to write a whole lot more in the coming weeks. I told one of my internship supervisors that I'm going to be there at 7:30. If I go in at 7:30, could I leave at 3:30? Oh.Em.Gee that would be so nice!
Yay! I am going to sleep in a bed tonight. A legit bed. A bad that isn't dirty! Yes!! (I am such a backpacker.)
