Oh Darling Understand...

...that everything ends.
----

Anyways, recap of my weekend so far....

  1. It was Brian's 20th birthday. I got the calendar that I made for him online in the mail a few days before his birthday. I was really happy because I chose the cheapest shipping method (21 days) and I got in nearly half that time. It was great. I gave it to him the day I got the calendar, which was the Monday week of his birthday. Whatever. I don't really like holding presents all too long and plus, calendars are good, especially for him.
[Wow, even at 20, that age seemed old to me until I was about 17. No seriously. I really thought 20 seemed like an old age because that was the age my mom had me. But no, she had me when she was young...]

  2. Not only was it Brian's birthday, but it was kind of also the day from Hell as well. It was the day of Cadets Camp. Yes - I procrastinated and waited until two hours before to pack for the weekend and get ready and yada yada yada. Brian and I rushed to go to Target and buy a sleeping bag because I forgot the one in Main Hall. (I found it in the closet of Main Hall - it is always full of festive pieces of shit.) We got to the bus station in the nick of time. The bus was a bit late...then all of a sudden, we found out the bus was going to be THREE HOURS LATE!!! So for three hours, Brian and I played Angry Birds and Checkers on my phone. We also played slaps and 20 questions... We never got bored. Also, we got some food from the vending machine. Needless to say, the vending machine only accepted EXACT change. So if you added an extra nickel, the vending machine would not only not return your money, but you have to buy something that was slightly more expensive then what you originally wanted. In a nutshell, the vending machine was stupid and needs to get fixed..

  3. When I arrived in Philly - I waited about an hour and a half for my ride. The bus station in Philadelphia is literally 40 minutes away from the high school the Cadets camp was. And my phone was dying. And I had no service. And I was surrounded by creepy men.... It was not a pleasant experience.
This picture captures its shady characteristic!

  4. When I got to Woodstown High School, I didn't get to see John, since he was sleeping with the other snares. But in good news, I fell asleep between two bookshelves. It was amazing. And... I got to charge my cellphone.
  5. At camp, I pretty much sat there. Since there was no....um this is supposed to be confidential... so if you know me and know what I'm talking about - Excellent. If you are just some random stumbler then sorry, I can't release this info. But they didn't have my instrument. So I sat watching the pit.

  6. It was nice seeing everyone. Seeing the familiar faces and making good friends. I'm excited for next camp and what other things I'm going to be trying. I cannot believe things right now. The stars are aligned: God didn't give me the bass drum part (since the Bass line was in need for the bigger drums, not the smaller ones. Veterans are going to be playing on the smaller drums.) Yet, God gave me an even bigger opportunity within the Cadets. I'm just blessed. Timing was perfect. Wow is all I can say.

  7. Yet with all the great opportunities that come my way, I'm still sad. My good friend, John, didn't make the snare line. He was SOOO close. There were eight guys going for three spots. Ugh - he's such an amazing person and I really hope he gets other opportunities to shine.

  8. At the end of the weekend, I left the school around 11:30 to get dropped off at the bus station. My bus going home leaves at 4pm.... so I was bummed that the 2pm van was full. I had to take the 11:30 van.... which kind of sucked since it was so early to be leaving.

  9. To pass the time, I briefly strolled around Chinatown in Philadelphia. I ordered some food from a small restaurant. I ordered duck and what I thought was those peach bun things that I was addicted to at the buffet near my house.... it turns out it wasn't the peach bun and some UFO (Unidentified Food Object) I could not deduce. While I was waiting to get my take out, some guy kept on smiling at me behind the counter. He wasn't even asian. He looked like the guy from Grease who's name I couldn't remember. When he left, he waved at me. I was kind of scared, but I was nice and waved back. I rather get on his good side then have him follow me back to the Greyhound bus station. I met a guy from Guam (named Kenneth) and he was telling me his lifestory... well almost. He asked if he could use my recharger and I said sure. He seemed nice, I guess. But I was still bugged out.

  10. After hours of waiting for the bus, I finally got in. It was the new Greyhound bus that the Greyhound website raves about too! The one equiped with wifi and outlets!!!
It wasn't until we arrived in Southside Philly.. where crazy shit happened...

  11. So we arrived at the first stop, which was at Southside... we picked up a crapload of ghetto girls. They were talking really loudly and usually, it is required for people riding the bus to be courteous and speak at a normal volume. Nope. These girls were talking SO LOUD. And so the bus driver stopped and told them to be quiet. The girls gave him an attitude and moved towards the middle-back of the bus. One of the girls SAT BEHIND ME! UGH. Then as the ghetto girls became situated in their seats, they were blasting music from their phones or whatever. Then the bus driver stopped again. I fell asleep...... Then the bus driver stopped for the third time. The ghetto girls got into a fight with another woman in the bus. They were screaming at eachother and arguing as if there was no tomorrow. It was quite ridiculous. Thankfully, they all STFU and the ghetto girls as well as that random woman got dropped off in Easton.

  12. As we were heading towards home, we hit crazy traffic and ended up arriving 30 minutes later than the original time. But whatever. Brian's mom picked me up. We went to Wal-Mart and picked up Brian from work! :)

My weekend was pretty hectic. But now that I'm home, I think it's time to tidy up!

I was in the basement today looking trying to find things from my past. (As I entered my freshman year of college, my mom took my whole room apart. And moved all of my possessions in the basement. Let me tell you, that was a complete DICK MOVE.)

I came across old school notes from junior high school. Notes from my friend Nicole, Alli, and Annie. It was nice reading a few of them. I even found a note from Brian from junior year. When I have the chance, I want to find all of my stuff in the basement and organize it. Perhaps give some of the old clothes away as well. I even saw old papers that I wrote in school and the grades I received for them. I could never shy away from my love of history. And how opinionated I was about historical events and such. Or how passionate of a writer I was...

Oh the memories. I wish I could somehow gather all of my old possessions and put them away in a better place. A place that they deserve. Not how my mom just shoved it all in the basement, treating it like garbage, making it feel like that memory is gone forever. Oh darling understand... because to me, not everything ends.

Let me give my love to you
Let me take your hand
And as we walk in the dimming light
Oh darling understand

That everything
Everything ends
