Biggie...again?!

I started writing this entry on July 16th.. but now it's July 23rd. Oops!

They say that when there is a thunderstorm, you should seek shelter immediately and stay away from trees. I guess I did the opposite.

There was a thunderstorm tonight in Washington, as well as an earthquake in the morning. I suppose you can say  the 16th of July was just Mother Nature's way of showing that she is on menopause. KIDDING! But clearly there is something crazy going on.

It is finally the weekend and time is running out. I would like to blame the heat for my excessive idling around my dorm room. Today, however, I got some shit done. Went to Target at Columbia Heights and bought some needed body wash. Then I went to the Rosslyn Film Festival where they played "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."

Fastforward

So.. I can't remember what I did this past week... I'll check my planner since basically my whole life is on that.. haha

OKAY SO

July 17: I woke up and went kayaking. Literally. I wasn't planning on going because of the price (since I have VERY limited money) but I went anyways. It turns out, the cashier at the Kayaking place didn't even swipe my card and she gave me the wrong receipt. I am grateful that she didn't swipe my card and give my reciept to someone else because it displays the expiration date, the name of the holder of the card, and the whole card number. It's kind of crazy when you think about it. But whatever. I suppose you can say I got a free pass to go kayaking and I didn't mind it!

I was a bit afraid at first. I thought I was going to tip over because within the first five seconds of getting in my kayak. To make matters worse, my camera fell not in the Potomac, but it still got wet from the inside of my boat. I lost motivation, but I was like, "Screw it. I have to make the best out of it." And hell, I did. I had so much fun! I kayaked all the way to the Kennedy Center. I thought, "Hmph. I might as well just boat to the KC instead of taking the bus there from Georgetown!" It was beautiful. I took tons of pictures. They're on my friend's blog and sadly, she didn't credit me. =( I think I should charge people who take my photos and make it their own. What do you think?

Overall, I had a wonderful time. It was just nice being by myself and just hearing my own thoughts. I am sort of a loner in that way. I love being around people, but for the most part, I'm solitary. I never thought I would have a boyfriend to explore the world with. It's nice. But still, I just love exploring by myself too. I am in a happy medium, so it's all good.

And throughout this week, I've been mostly relaxing, yet at the same time, getting down to business. I've been reading a lot and you don't know how much that makes me happy. I used to read SO MUCH when I was younger, but with the way I've been living, it's hard to keep me still.

I finally finished New Moon and that same night, I started Eclipse. I love it. I can't put it down to the point where I am neglecting my internship duties. I wanted to do something more journalism focused (since that's why I'm here) so I asked my supervisor and he told me to write something about After-Hours trading. I was thinking about writing "Stocks for Dummies" but because the readers of the blog are already experts on trading, it would be a waste to write something like that. But hey, it was worth a try. It's a bit of a tedious task to write something that you are not really familiar with and yet, try to sound like an expert with your words. I always tried to steer away from writing articles that dealt with something I could never understand. I always wanted to write something fun, something that anyone would like to read, yet still informing them in this creative way. This is waaay different and I'm not exactly sure how to approach it. I have some ideas..

And wow, Biggie just came on shuffle....from Yo-Yo Ma to him. Alright...

I went to see a Dinosaur movie at the Smithsonian IMAX theater. It was cool. I was freaked out because it was 3-D and seeing a dinosaur head towards you, it is still a little freaky. (I would have never been a good actress in any of the Jurassic Park movies. Though, I did enjoy them immensely. Except for this one part, but I don't feel like divulging about that right now.)

I also went to the National Native American Museum. That was nice too. It was an unexpected visit on my case, but I wanted to see as much as I can on my last week here.

After being here for two months, I have become obsessed with Georgetown Cupcake. I usually sleep in during the weekends, but with Georgetown Cupcake's free flavor (given out every day, only 100 of them) I have the uncanny motivation to wake up for some delicious bakery shit. haha At least it's a better addiction than smoking. Everyday, I need my cupcake fix. Today, I had "Vanilla Sunshine" and I think I experienced an orgasm in my mouth. I apologize for the vulgarity, but seriously - it was amazing! I only paid for one cupcake and that was Red Velvet. Not gonna lie, but it seems like Red Velvet is too popular of a flavor that it'll never become a free flavor. So I bought it to see if it is better than B-Hat's cake. Not because he's my boyfriend for nearly three years, but B-Hat trumps Georgetown Cupcake's Red Velvet flavor. Fyi. =)

But yeah. I am going to miss Gtown cupcake. I might order some online... but who knows. I don't want to pay $55 for just twelve delicious cupcakes to ship around my neck of the woods. B-Hat is an amazing enough cook, he might just do it all for free! *hint*hint*

JeeZUS one more week until I am home! I miss home. I love talking to my friends on the computer and everything, but it makes me miss them more. Especially my high school bandos. (You know who you are and I love you to death!) I hope we can all hang out sometime!

My aunts, uncle, and cousins are coming THIS Saturday! I checked the weather (because it's on my desktop haha) and the high for Saturday is 102! The hell?! I don't mind the heat, but the humidity here is annoying. Maybe I do belong in Forks, Washington, since I love rain so much. Hey, I ran in a thunderstorm while everyone was going for shelter. I think being a daredevil is in my blood. I really want to jump off a cliff and land in water. That's one of my life goals, anyways.

Time for more reading!!

And I get to go to the French Embassy tomorrow! And ah shiz, I don't know exactly what they're up to. Thank God for Twitter...

In case you were wondering, another Biggie song came on. So that's why this post is entitled "Biggie...again?!"
