Chchchanges

Time for an update? Heck yes, I think so.

Lots of things have changed. Obviously, it’s my life. Everything, as it seems, keeps on changing. A lot of it has been in my power – and I’m hopefully making the best out of these alternations.

Graduation was yesterday. I cried. I’ve met so many great people this year and sadly, they were part of the interesting Class of ’08. Some of my favorite ‘08ers were (in no particular order)Kelly, Ricky, Ulric, John, Nick C., Ethan, Laura, Lamya, Lester, David, Nick B., Asrah, Kelsey, Lucas, Kathleen, Tony, Nancy, Alicia, the Emerts, Nick M., Adam, Aaron, there are others, but my memory is kinda patchy. But I’m going to miss them all.

Also, I played bass drum with the band. It was my first time playing and I thought I was going to suck since I was alongside three other experienced percussionists, BH, being one of them. But surprisingly, I played well. Even the Cassinator smiled at me while I was playing. It was pretty monumental indeed.

What else? Well, my chemistry teacher does these awards which she refers to as “corny” and it’s presented at the end of the year to four students. These awards include: The highest average, second highest average, and the student who tries to get the highest average but unsucceeds to do so (aka most effort), and the Mad Scientist.

To tell you the truth, I sucked at chemistry this year. For every test, my grade was usually an F minus and I didn’t think I would get an award. But when I heard my name was called for the “Mad Scientist” award, I was pretty damned surprised. The “Mad Scientist” is someone who is just naturally curious. I remember during the labs this year, I always added more chemicals which usually resulted in a mass chemical disaster… and I would just ask questions because again, in my nature, I’m just curious. I really can’t help myself.

I got a medal that was obviously made from China and a cute certificate. Till this day, I still wear the medal or just carry it around. It reminds me that you don’t have to be the smartest in the class – you just have to be that person that shows off who you really are. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get a certificate and a medal because of it.

Outrageous yet memorable moment: Last day of school; I was meeting my friends at Starbucks. But sadly enough, I had to take some quizzes (sucks, I know) therefore they left Starbucks before I had a chance to get there. However, I did meet them halfway, but I was at the other side of the road. I tried to cross the street but no car was kind enough to stop. Then all of a sudden, a school bus stops the traffic and allows me to cross. My friends, as joyous as they were, were screaming and clapping. I felt like a little boy batting the winning score for a Little League team.

Good news is, I got Starbucks using my mom’s credit card a few minutes later with BH.
